Reigning Jeopardy! champion Adriana Harmeyer is heading to the next Tournament of Champions!

Adriana, an archivist from West Lafayette, Indiana, crossed the ToC-qualifying threshold on Tuesday when she secured her fifth win in a runaway against Christina Paul and Travis Kissire.

“It feels fantastic. It feels surreal,” Adriana said of her winning-streak. “I tried not to think about it too much, but I hoped that I could make it this far.”

Adriana powered through Tuesday’s game and finished in first place with a score of $24,400, bringing her five-game total winnings to $116,240. Travis took second place with a score of $9,599, and Christina came in third place with $0.

With her latest victory, Adriana has become the third player from Season 40 to earn entry into the next Tournament of Champions with five consecutive wins.

“I am so excited to join the company of the other champions this season,” Adriana said. “I am all for [an] all-female tournament.”

Throughout her run, Adriana has proven to be a player who possesses a wide breadth of knowledge. Three out of five of Adriana’s games have ended in runaways.

“I really just love answering questions,” Adriana said. “When a category pops up that I know I have a background in, or just something that I’m interested in, and I know I can just play through those clues — that’s a really great feeling.”

Adriana will go for her sixth win on Wednesday when she faces off against geographer Kyle Sorlie Titlow and writer Allee Mead.
