Featured J!Buzz
In anticipation of the All-Star Games, airing February 20-March 5, we’ve compiled and released contestant stats for the first time ever. If you are participating in the All-Stars Fantasy League Sweepstakes, you may have already consulted these numbers when you selected your team. But for everyone following this epic Jeopardy! team tournament, indulge in statistics galore on each of the All-Stars in four categories: Speed, Accuracy, Risk and Performance, and see if your favorites are still playing at peak performance.

SPEED. Because “you can’t win if you can’t buzz in,” buzzer speed is the cornerstone of every champion’s success. We’ve provided the average rate of first buzz-ins for each player’s Jeopardy! and Double Jeopardy! rounds combined.

When you buzz in, you have to be able to deliver the goods, so ACCURACY is another key factor. In this category, we’ve provided the percentage of correct responses in the Jeopardy! and Double Jeopardy! rounds combined, as well as the percentage of the time the champions got Final Jeopardy! right.

The RISK category is all about the crucial aspect of wagering. Some champions got their success with a “go big or go home” mantra; others built a slow lead and protected it. You’ll find each champion’s average Daily Double and Final Jeopardy! wagers to get a sense of their strategy and how it may have factored into their wins.

With PERFORMANCE, we focus on a couple of numbers that represent game dominance: the percentage of “runaway” games played and the average dollar amount won per game. A runaway game is a golden ticket to a Jeopardy! champion because it means they have taken such a lead by the end of the Double Jeopardy! round that they are ensured a win without having to bet anything in Final Jeopardy! The average amount won per game indicates aptitude in all of the categories combined – though by what ratio depends on each player.
But numbers don’t always tell the whole story. Some of these stats affect others – for example, if a champ has a guaranteed runaway, they may wager less aggressively. Your knowledge of each of these champions and what complementary skills they may have will play a prominent part in any predictions you may have about the outcome of the games. One thing's for sure - every player will be bringing their All-Star game to this tournament.
