You may recall a category called TALKIN’ FOOTBALL that aired a couple of years ago. To refresh your memory, three bright contestants with one knowledge gap in common just couldn’t seem to answer a single clue about the sport.  

As it turns out, the playful media stir that it caused resulted in inspiration for today’s FOOTBALL category, developed and cowritten by Alex, himself. Once conceived, he provided hand drawings and notes of what the category might include. 

If you missed it, Alex had a little fun presenting these clues to today’s contestants. As with every game of Jeopardy!, sometimes a category just isn’t in a contestant’s wheelhouse. But that just means it’s a good opportunity to learn something new.
